Describe a custom from your country that you would like people from other countries to adopt. Explain your choice, using specific reasons and examples.
1. There are a lot of customs and traditions in our country. Almost from birth, children are introduced to these practices. Russia is indeed a unique country, which, along with highly developed modern culture carefully preserves the traditions of his nation, deeply rooted not only in the Orthodox religion but also in paganism. The Russians continue celebrate pagan holidays, believe in many of the popular superstitions and legends.
2. In ancient times it was believed that the male head of the family, and the woman must to help him. Some cultures have retained this custom. We have an increasing role becomes a woman. I think this it is not entirely correct. And all in the family needs to be a compromise.
3. We also have rich wedding customs. Long ago, the groom had to buy a bride, before she was married. But the young wife can`t come back home after the wedding for a long time. As the man took her under his wing and had to provide everything.
4. As for Orthodox holidays. Christianity gave Russians great holidays such as Easter, Christmas and the rite of Baptism.
Easter is the celebration of Christ's resurrection. This holiday came to Russia from Byzantium together with the baptism at the end of X century. This Christian holiday widely throughout Russia celebrated since then.
Easter is a day of abundant food. The most different and delicious exhibited on the table in this day after Lent. Among them are ritual meals. And, above all, it is Easter cakes and painted eggs.
