I think it is not so. Of course older people have more experience, which they can share with the younger generation. Old people store accumulated rich knowledge during a long life, and their experience is often much greater than that of hundreds of young students.
The elderly have experienced a lot of variety of life situations, and over time could think of them in rational and correct way. It's what people call wisdom. Due to the presence in the family of grandparents with a clear intellect, grandchildren can get also excellent practical skills (grandmothers can teach their grandson to cook, and grandpa's grandchildren – to work with my hands for domestic purposes), and a significant proportion of the building material for the building worldview. According to scientific researches, people who had close contact with the grandfather or grandmother, morally get Mature somewhat earlier, avoiding making many silly mistakes.
All this is of course good. But our world is constantly changing. Science, technology goes forward. People change. And what seems completely new and challenging to older people now, the youth perceives absolutely free. Previously, there were no computers, no phones and so older people cautiously work with them or do not use them at all. And the youth could teach them.
Now, sadly to say, there are many cases where elderly people are hunted by all sorts of scams to rob them. And old people are very often unaware of the fraud, agree to give the latter. I think young people can teach old people to be more vigilant, to understand modern people.
